Here's a breakdown of Edessan titles. There are quite a few titles not used in the book, mostly military and religious titles.

Arist-- A title indicating membership of the aristocratic class. It can be used for any subordinate member of a House, including wives, unmarried siblings, and children. It’d the default title for any unknown person of wealth. Though members of the clergy and military have their own titles, they might also be addressed as ‘arist’.
Archon -- The archon is the political head of a House and the husband in marriage.
Elarchon -- The elarchon is the official heir of a house and becomes the archon upon marriage and inheritance. Most archons either put off choosing an elarchon or don’t disclose their choice; sibling rivalry is encouraged to cull the weak from the strong. Plus you wouldn’t want your heir getting impatient and hurrying the inheritance process up.
Princeps -- A princeps is a child of the current empress or emperor. This title is roughly equivalent to “prince” or “princess,” but not as elevated. The emperor has nearly thirty wives and eighty children, so if you’re a princeps, you’re one of the herd.
